they say history repeats itself. and we all know its true. I believe that what’s going on in Iran and the whole middle east is the same as what happened before ww2. you’ve got Germany and Hitler (Iran/Syria/Lebanon and all the terrorist regimes), then Hitler turns on the jews and begins executing them (as is now this very moment in Israel) and because of global tolerance, Hitler grows to a super power, recruits japan, and the free world losses millions of lives in a war that could have been prevented ( our president has convinced congress to try and prevent the middle east from becoming the next out of control problem, but the media makes him out to be an evil war monger, reasoning that he lacks "tolerance" and needs to butt out of the middle east's problems). I don’t know about you, but this scares the hell out of me. I don’t want another world war, I want to finish this war on terror so we don’t have to see millions of innocent jews, and our service men die.

History is not repeating itself in the present conflict between Israel against Lebanon and Hezbollah guerillas. It will not escalate into a world war because it is confined only to them. Support could be made by other nations but it will be considered violation of the International Law.

Yes, those who refuse to learn from the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes. Problem is, I think that you've got your analogies a bit mixed up. No, there is no singular Hitler, but, Israel is no innocent in this. Hezbollah didn't learn from the past that Israel does not negotiate at all. Taking Israeli hostages happened before and Israel did the same thing ( Berlin, 1972 ). Personally, I think Iran put Hezbollah up to it. Hezbollah didn't do anything stupid for a long time, now that the heat is turned up on Iran for nuclear enrichment and the G8 summit meeting, Iran needed a distraction. Of course, if history proves me right, I wonder what Lebanon will do to Iran ?

War is a part of the human condition - the timings are right for another global war though. The Western countries are becoming poor, while the Middle Eastern and Eastern ones are becoming richer. So we could see a new age crusades but this time the battle is equal as both are well armed.

People were saying this in the wars of the 1970's. When Iraq took over the American Embassy in Iran, we were talking about the beginning of Armageddon. When the first Gulf war started they were talking about this blowing up in to a world war. They said the same thing about the problems of mainland China and Taiwan. They said the same thing about the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R.
People think all hell is going to break loose and nothing keeps happening. Go relax and see a movie.

no I think Bush and his crones have something to do with this It is the perfect way to get Americans to not think of Iraq so much Iraq sure has not been in the news as much. Go to your oil buddies have them attack some one and let them raise the oil prices so us dumb Americans won't notice what is up. Our men and women in Iraq are pretty much surrounded in this aren't they
