Well i am on my third and this is the first time that I have noticed swelling of the feet so early too. But I am at 12 wks but I think that standing on your feet all day will make you retain more water like that.

8 weeks wouldn't be too early to experience this since you stay on your feet all day. If you plan on continuing to stay on your feet then I suggest to get some support socks (NOT pantyhose). Get some comfortable shoes, Dr, Shoals or something orthopedic.
It is just water retention and it happens. Stay away from salts, (chips, peanuts, any highly salted foods) drink more water to pass the salt from your body.
I never swelled at all with my first pregnancy. With my second my feet looked like a bag of marshmallows!
With 2 kids a job and the million other things you do I know it won't be easy to rest your feet. But try to do so as often as possible. They should be going down with rest and overnight sleep.
If not you should bring this up to your doctor.

It can be- the thing to keep a close eye on with swelling is your blood pressure- also, make sure that you eat well, at least ten grams of protein a day, foods high in B vitamins, a good calcium/ magnesium supplement (your body can't use calcium without the magnesium), and drink plenty of water- don't over do it, but make sure you get enough.
And by the way the cut back the salt advice is ridiculous- your cells use sodium to moderate the osmotic pressure within them selves- not enough salt is even worse than none. Just don't over do that either.

lots of new changes going on in your body. cut down on the salt and salty snacks and try and get permisson to get off your feet at least since you are working 9 hrs a day or try and go to part time work if possible. keep your blood pressure monitered and watch closely for eclampsia at end of pregnancy if you are having swelling now. your best answer should come from your doctor who is taking care of your pregnancy.make a list and present to him on next visit and dont miss any appointments. they are important

It is not uncommon for swelling to start that early, it is more what you are eating and the salt intake, Cut down on the salty food and when you take a break at work...make sure you keep your feet up, preferably above your heart.

Every pregnancy is different. My feet didn't start to swell until I was about 18 weeks, but I'm sure it is normal. Just do whatever you can to minimize it, and share your concerns with your doctor.

I'd call your doctor just to make sure everything's ok ... I don't think you should have swelling of your feet and ankles that early. In the meantime, sit down & put your feet up for awhile :O)

Yes try to keep your feet elevated when not working and place pillows under them at night. This will help reduce the swelling but yes its normal. Side note hubby had much better (eating) access with my feet raised! Fringe benefit lol

While it COULD be perfectly normal.
It COULD be a sign of toxemia. This is elevated blood pressure that is not good for the baby. The doctor will want to see you EARLY next week. Probably nothing to panic over, but get seen on Monday! They will probably do a blood test.
