I accidently posted this on home schooling so now I'm posting it where I meant to...maybe I'll get hits on both! :) Thanks for your patience and understanding!

I am a teacher in central ohio who is looking for students to tutor. I have posted on two websites but have had no luck. How did you find your child's tutor? I don't want to spend money on a newspaper ad if it will not help. Any advice? I love teaching and am missing it this summer plus we are buying a condo and we need a little extra money to help with the move. Thanks so much!

Hi...What age group would you like to tutor...I would create a flyer and make copies...on pretty paper that stands out....I would hang them in grocery stores, camps, gyms, schools, afterschool programs, summer school programs, etc. I would also leave them on the windshield of cars that are at child events (ie. soccer, baseball, etc) games. Another place you might want to post them is at the chamber of commerce, and any rec centers (YMCA, etc). You can also post them at grocery stores (free bulletin board..of community events, etc), and then give them to friends of yours to distribute. I would also hang them in my car..if you drive around town a lot.

These are just a few suggestions.

there are also free newspapers..like the penny savers..etc...they offer a discount to post them in there....also..you might want to hang flyers at local community colleges/universities...(they have kisd..some of the students)....just need to brain storm..and see what is around you....

oh..libraries usually have a free bulletin board....you can hang stuff as well...

good luck!

Well it depends where in central Ohio you live. I live in Columbus and I find almost all of the info I need in the Columbus Parent Magazine. In the back there are listing for tutors and I believe it is free to place your ad.

If it is permitted, post flyers in your school. Continue to get the word out...and see if you are allowed to post them at different schools in your area...or in the same district. There is a real need for tutors, so don't give up. Sometimes, it takes time for it to manifest itself.

Contact a local university, to see if they have anywhere to post; I actually find my students through a country club. A friend of mine worked there, and he recommended me to some of his tennis students.
