If it is iridescent and is in deep blues with violet hues, or amber with reddish hues, it is carnival glass.
If it is more like pottery or stoneware and has many colors, it may be majolica-a type of Italian pottery.
If each piece is a solid color but there is a variety of colors it may be fiestaware (which is currently being produced again.)
If you aren't sure, take the names above and look at the pics on E-Bay. This will give you the visuals to identify your glass.
If it is none of the above type in 'vintage glass dishes' or something similar and see what comes up.
Good luck.
