the 2nd modification does 2 issues: It supplies the government the ideal to have a protection stress and it supplies persons the ideal to very own firearms. it fairly is significant as a results of fact on the time of the famous conflict between the 1st issues the British rulers tried to do grew to become into to confiscated the armory of the colonial electorate. Unarmed electorate may well be lots greater handy to regulate via an authoritarian government than armed electorate. The lesson for on the instant is a similar. If the government ever succeeded in banning all inner maximum possession of firearms, they might have finished administration as a results of fact they efficiently administration the protection stress. an apprehension of each and every government is that the individuals will insurrection and end their rule. loss of non-public weapons makes it fairly not likely.

One of the greatest problems free men faced in the history of Europe was powerful armed warlords and kings who raised armies to supress and exploit the lower classes. Our forefathers realized in Englad and the colonial Americas that free people armed with suitable weapons could present a formidable defense of their communities and homes. Especially if each community trained and drilled monthly. With privately owned weapons and ammo. So, when the original Constitution did not explain that, patriots insisted on the Second amendment so that you and I can protect all of the others FROM OUR OWN GOVERNMENT!!!!!

1) at the time our constitution was written our primary line of defense was armed civilians.
2) Our founding fathers had just fought a war against an oppressive ruling government. They wanted citizens to be armed, so that if the new government ever got out of line or corrupted the people could take it over, by force, if necessary.

First that the states are allowed to have thier own state armed forces.

second, it allows for private ownership of weapons.

It is important, so that if and when a nation becomes bad, the people can rise up against thier nation and create a new one.

Because the power is supposed to come from the people, so defense is supposed to come from the populace too.

Of course, now we have a professional military so the meaning has been altered and the 2nd Amendment has spawned a fight by those who think it gives them the right as individuals to bear arms.

The 2nd references a "well-regulated militia" as the reason for the right of citizens to bear arms. So if you're not in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan wearing face paint and practicing maneuvers with your local militia, you're not the person the framers were talking about.

Personally, I think most weapons are okay for private ownership, and that it isn't a 2nd Amendment issue at all. Of course, I was raised by a parent with their own gun dealership... So I guess that makes me biased!

So when some dictator-wanna be from Texas decides he never wants to give up the presidency and starts to make unilateral decisions that are not in the best interest of the people, the people can rise up and let him know they're not hip to that plan.

It gives the states the right to create an army and stand up to "da man" when necessary.

The 2nd amendment guarantees all citizens the ability to carry out their duty to overthrow oppressive government. We the people need to be able to defend ourselves, and if necessary, retake our country from the hands of criminals.

the first ten amendments were a result of england's handling of the colonies during the colonial phase. specifically, the second was aimed at the (former) english practice of trying to confiscate colonial weapons prior to the revolution.that is exactly what they (english) were looking for prior to the battles of lexington and concord.
