If you have the presence of mind to know you are abusing your power, then you know it is wrong.
Conversely, if you do not know you are abusing your power, perhaps you should be relieved of it.
Power is a VERY corrupting influence. Many are sucked into it without knowing it.With authority comes power. With power, comes corruption and abuse.
The people must be keenly aware of those that they give authority over them.

Of course not... then again, I'm a liberal democrat and I'm not in the position of abusing any type of power or authority. When you abuse those things, you alienate the people you might need when both are gone, and then you're hosed.
You know, like the US is in the world's arena right now.
