my xbox stoped working?

it keeps saying i should check if it is a xbox cd or dvd.no matter how much cds i try,xbox games ofcourse it says the same thing.can any1 help,tell me what is wrong with it

1, how long have youve had the xbox they break after about 2 years and 2, you need to get a fan and cool it down every time after you use it
