To many miles for what?
A well maintained Celica with 183,000 miles may be a better buy than a 2000 Celica that had rough treatment and 20,000 miles.

Celicas are capable of 250,000-300,000 miles if well maintained and not abused.

183k for a Toyota celica is too many miles to keep this vehicle unmaintained. A car like this is driven in all weather and probably being sporty- pretty hard. you have a lot of factors that deal with safety when are car is that used. You may suffer from metal fatigue, rust, loose bushings etc. Keep it as a local hooptie but long trips are a no-no. Make sure you overhaul the steering and brake systems and of course a tune-up and oil change will keep it running. your enemies at this point are rust, potholes, and the fashion police.

If its a car you are buying then it should be a low price. Look got service history and particularly regular oil changes at 3000. Well maintained cars can do very high mileages, there is a 1800 Volvo with 2,000,000 miles, I know of 1800cc fords with 300,000+ and one 2000cc car with 600,000. Cars like long highway miles and regular oil changes.

How the car has been driven and how often the oil has been changed is more relevant than the number of miles.

If you cant get this information from the seller, walk away, there are always more cars than buyers

to me, YES IT IS considering the car is only about 12 years old. my 1986 prosche 944 only has 77 K miles on it. cars should approximatly have 3000 miles every 3 months, but thats just my person opinion. and if u do the math, thats 144 K miles on that celica..... just get a 02 celica GT.

If you are buying it... Yea.. if you a driving it... who cares... Get every miles you can out of the bugger. Plus I dont know why people put so much stock in how many miles a car has... If your transmission, and engine are in good shape who cares how many places its been.
