Queen, I think no other rock band is as original, or time tested. ( Bohemian Rhapsody is the only song to reach number #1 in the charts in two different decades) We are the champions could be the anthem for any sports team who won it all. Speaking of sports, We will rock you is playing everywhere. And they go from that to the tender "find me somebody to love"
And back to Bohemian Rhapsody ( which contains arguably the first music video) , it a song that contains opera and rock. What about the ranges of pitch of the voices. That could never be duplicated.
I could go on and on, but I will stop here.

now best band as in perfection of their music Pink Floyd every instrument HAD to have perfect timing and sond for every song.
best band as in all the musicians are the best at what they do to create a genious sound Led Zeppelin
or if you mean band as in one musician conducting everyone in his band while being the best at what he doses with a passion Jimi Hendrix
Or the band that influences the world with their music that could connect with the crowd like no other The Beatles
or the band with the most prue mussage of life The Greatful Dead...
Maybe a new artist named Mike Perkins could be one of the next best bands of our time...check him out at his name dot net. (gotta support my local music...you know)
Jimmy Page is just a poet on that guitar!!!
