reprograming 101. first start one thing , when you feel like you can do it with your eyes closed , add another thing . repeat until you can add anymore things. It also helps to organize . Lets say you are going on a break and on your way out you take the out going mail to drop off on the way , and call in you lunch order so its ready to be picked up later during your break while going pee. you know .

LOL well you can't get your brain rewired but you don't have to. You can learn to multitask. Just practice doing a couple simple things at once like cooking tomato soup while making a grilled cheese.. and keep practicing until you can make them at the same time without burning them. Or practice keeping up on talking to a bunch of people at once on IMs.

I hate to say it but I think women are more "wired" to multi-tasking than men are.
I would suggest searching a university library database to find studies in gender and multi-tasking. I'm sure you'd find your answer there.
I would imagine that women being capable of answering one child's science question while calming a crying baby, cooking dinner and preparing a report for work, while their husband plays video games (not that all men do this, it's just an example), would tell you what they think.
Good luck on your mission.

There used to be a joke about President Johnson (USA) not being able to chew gum and fart at the same time. In other words he could not multi-task. Women are supposed to be better at it than men but I reckon this is because they are flibbertigibbets. I defy any woman to give birth to twins, paint her toenails and sing White Xmas at the same time.

You can learn it, although supposedly women do it better than men. It's the ability to do several things at once, and do them well.
Women tend to do several things at once: run the household, run the errands, run the kids around, usually at the same time, and often while working outside the home. Multi-tasking helps things run more smoothly.

It's a learned talent. When you have one task down, add another one. However, I did hear that women are more likely to master multitasking.

I've come to notice that a lot of males can't multi-task. I guess it's 'cause they don't have the burden of having children and having to learn to do it, if they don't know it. I don't mean to sound sexist, but this is just what I've noticed.

If you do more than one thing at a time you are multi-tasking. Talk on your cell phone and drive? Multi-tasking. Watch tv while doing homework? Multi-tasking. Talk on phone while doing dishes or laundry or .....anything? Multi-tasking.
