Used to be in my city alone there were like three places you could go on Fri, sat, and sun, and there would be a swap meet there. Now with the advent of Ebay, I cannot find a good local swap meet in any city. If you don't know what a swap meet is, you must be a communist. But it was basically a place with lots of stalls and tables and you could rent a table and sell whatever you wanted to at it, and people would come from miles around to get fake Nike's and counterfeit videos, and hot stereo equipment.

Not in SoCal, bro.
to the east of L.A. (20 mi.) is the old Vineland (drive-in theatre lot) swapmeet. Further east (45 mi.) is the Mission (old drive-in theatre lot) swapmeet in Montclair. In Pasadena, the City College Swapmeet even has a 1 square-block swapmeet (separate from it's 3+-blocks regular swapmeet) that deals only with the music-related: DVDs CDs,tapes, records, t-shirts, posters, 8-tracks...
and a whole lotta underground (nudge-nudge,wink-wink,say no more!) sh*t that I've bought tons of!!

the swap meet may be gone from your area bt we still have them here, most are put together through small groups who expand as the place becomes more well known, only they meet less often if they're really large and aren't a commercial venture as some are.
