You have to first look at the good and bad points to the problem . Find out other people's views on on the problem and listen to them , They might come up with a new idea on how to work the problem ..Invite all to participate in a conversation to solve the problem . Then announce your decision about the problem .

See what the causes of the problem are, then work to eliminate those causes,and work to eliminate the effect of the problem on yourself. Some problems can be solved instantly, some may take years, even decades or centuries. Be weary of anyone that claims to be able to solve a problem quickly and cheaply, usually when you cut corners in solving problems, those problems tend to come back

That's the basic truth you need to learn before solving any problem whether it be a minor or major problem.
Knowing first what is the problem, then researching and finding several solutions to the problem, testing the alternatives on a simulation basis, then finally implementing the selected solution to eliminate your problem. Incorporating flexibility and innovation does increase the probability of solving your problem faster. And making sure that this problem or any similar scenarios don't get repeated in the future.
