AIM has AIM Express but Yahoo dosen't. In my opinion, AIM is better because it dosen't freeze computers like Yahoo IM does.

I personally perfer Gaim http://www.gaim.com/ you can be logged on to yahoo and AIM from the same messanger window.
You can also use trillian, but I haven't and can't give you a comparison.
