flies hang around,( there is no poop in the area).As soon as you bring out the flyswat, these flies disappear, or hide around the corner?

It is all because of the secret poop society that originated in South America ... where flies were bred and trained to avoid flyswatters
these flies migrated all across the Americas over the next hundred years
this secret society also trained warriors that traveled the globe by ship and released these flys on all continents
the common "dumb" fly eventually became extinct because the female flies refused to mate with the regular "dumb" flies while the "smart" flies got all the action
or the dumb flies got killed while trying to bring home the sh!t but never made it

meanwhile the smart flies escaped multiple deaths and reproduced thousands of times giving us today what is known as the "smart" fly

I've never noticed that. I think maybe you're just imagining it. I like subconsciously when you don't have a fly swatter, you notice more flies around than when you actually do.
