Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =)
1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.
2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.
3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.
4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.
5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.
6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

I HAVE THE ANSWER TO ACNE!
I have a teen aged brother and me who have struggled with Acne for years...we tried many things, including Proactive and prescription medicines as well. Then, we found the solution.
Please don't shrug it off because this can help you a lot.
I was searching through the Internet and found www.acne.org. The site is owned by a guy named Dan. Dan, struggled with acne as well. He read medical books and tried many things on the market. Then, he found the way. BENZYL PEROXIDE! Now, I bet you have used it many times before but it hasn't done much right? Well, the reason is because everything on the market is 5% or 10% Benxyl Peroxide. These irritate your skin which causes MORE acne! (Touching it irritates it as well which causes more acne.) There is one thing on the market that has non irritating Benzyl Peroxide....2.5% Benzyl Peroxide. Netrogena on the Spot Acne Cream has 2.5. Nothing else on the market. You can get stuff on the Internet that have 2.5%! It is also on the site www.acne.org.
The regimen includes: First washing your face with a cleanser (suggested ones are on the site)
Then, drying and adding LARGE AMOUNTS or Benzyl Peroxide. In the beginning very little but you rank it up to 2 fingers after time.
Last, you moisturize, because the Benzyl Peroxide may dry up your skin. Suggested ones are on the website as well.
Go to www.acne.org and read about the clear skin regimen.
THIS MAN IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY...HE IS NOT SELLING ANYTHING!
He just wants to help. I have clear skin and so does Dan. There is also a forum where you can read more. The site teaches you how to pop a zit the right way and to find out other products that have work well.
I hope I Helped!
(My brother who is also a teen is clear as well. This regimen takes about 8 weeks to be completely clear but you will see gradually the acne go away. There is no cure for acne, so you have to do the regimen every day until acne goes away.)

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

I'm not a Doctor, so I can't guarantee this, but years ago I had a terrible case of acne. A friend recommended I try a periodic washing of my face with heavily salted water. I did that for a few days and noticed a vast improvement. Being a male, I wasn't worried about my face drying out, so you may feel the need to keep the face more moisturized. Just thought I'd mention this as a possible solution, though. Good luck.

There is no cure for acne, there is only acne management.
To help control and prevent outbreaks, cleanse your face with a mild glycerin soap and apply topical treatments.
The two best topical treatments are tea tree oil and benzoyl peroxide. Cleansers and toners made with tea tree oil can be used on your entire face to treat and prevent pimples, while straight tea tree oil or benzoyl peroxide products (benzagel is a good one) can be applied to any pimples.
Also, steaming the face over a bowl of hot water and then applying a paste of baking soda and water will dry any major outbreaks. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with water. This should not be done often or it will dry and irritate your skin.
Diet is not the major determinant of acne, but it is important to avoid high-fat foods and iodine (found in shellfish and iodized salt).
Making the following dietary changes can also be helpful.
Increase your consumption of antioxidant-rich foods, including fruits and vegetables.
Include omega-3 fatty acids like wild Alaskan salmon or freshly ground flax seeds to help reduce and prevent inflammation.
Substitute calcium-fortified soy milk for cow's milk (a link has been found between cow's milk and acne)
Drink lots of water to keep the skin hydrated and healthy.
Limit processed and refined foods, and opt for whole, healthful foods instead.
There are prescription drugs you could also look into such as vitamin A derivatives (topical and internal), but these are highly toxic and must be used under close supervision.

It depends on what your diet is and what you normally use to clean your face. Also skin type. Stay away from acne enemies like fried foods, chocolates, pop, etc. Clean your face 2 -3 times daily and try Witch hazel after cleaning your skin. Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins. Keep make up use to special occassions. Make -up can clog pores. I have acne problems Also and the things
that help me out the most is are.
1. Daily cleaning 2-3 times ( even more when it is hot out)
I use Clean and Clear Daily foaming Facial cleanser.
2.) follow up with a toner ( like witch hazel)
3.) Products that help prevent acne can be drying to I also follow up with a small dab of Aveno Soy Moisterizer.
4.) I exfloiate once a week with an apricot scrub.
5.) I also use a deep cleasing mask once a month ( right around my period time when acne is the worst.
take a look at the link blow also for more helpful tips.
good luck!

Check out the website below. Lot's of information on acne. Hopefully you will find some treatments that you haven't used and that will work. My brother had to go on tetracycline for a while to clear up his acne. If you use any drugs at all, stop, because they could be the cause of your acne.

Acne may not ever completely go away, but you can do things to help keep it under control like washing your face with warm water (maybe with mild soap or face wash) and drinking lots of water, besides all the ointments/prescriptions available. The severity may also vary depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle.
