the ghost dance of the souix indians was outlawed by rthe feds because they were afraid that the souix would go back on the warpath. that was the reason for the wounded knee massacre of unarmed men woman and children who were doing the dance at wounded knee, south dakota in the late 1800's. army troops slaughtered hundreds of innocent dancers because they didn't understand what the dance was. they shot first and didn't bother to ask questions later. no army personnel were punished for the acts of murder committed.
