I don't think you can. maybe one individual can break away from this, but I see it as a global trend: the masses of poor will increase and get poorer and poorer while a the few rich get richer. The middle class will be stretched out of existence. Feel lucky if you live in the US/Canada or Europe, because you're not leading this trend, but only following from a good distance. However, you will eventually get there too. :(

In addition to flipping burgers, they should be studying to get a master's degree. Young people might consider waiting to have a family until after their education is complete and their jobs are secure. With modern methods of birth control this is indeed possible.

We live in a high-tech world. In generations past a person could get by with a high-school education and be trained on the job. Today, a person needs to have a university degree. It takes effort and sacrifice to get a master's degree. The youth of today may not have that stamina. However, the Oriental and Indian immigrants and their children do study until they obtain a master's degree and they get better paying jobs although they may have had to flip burgers or wash dishes to get their education. Education should be the main priority in a person's life.

Hey , do what I did when I was Young with two children, no husband. I went to school and worked 2 jobs until I got where I wanted to be in life. I just kept it moving, I was told you can't get no where in life waiting for someone to give you something, You got to go out and get it on your own. Now I say the same thing to older people. Don't expect anybody to give you any thing, it will just make you lazy and unappreciative. If you work for it you can respect it more and has more value. Just keep it moving........ I did it without welfare .... If you want it bad enough you will do what ever it takes to keep your children in a house. as I said before. i did it without welfare, food stamps, public housing. It wasn't easy but it was worth it.

Its really sad...and for those who say, Oh they are lazy or not working hard enough they are wrong. Alot of our businesses are moving out of the country for cheap labor. Years ago a husband could make a decent middle income living working at a local mill and support his family.he could buy a house and most families only owned one car. House prices and rents are outragous, I think its out of control. Life in general is more expensive.
The only hope they would have is to enroll in community college, they can get federal aid to pay for it, and start a new career.Computers and healthcare are are a booming business.
Services like electricians and HVAC technicians pay really well, that is something they could look into as well.

Education is the key to the future of America. Young people with drive and without resources should have access to scholarships so that they can become the hope of the future. This country needs thousands of science, technology and math wizards to help lay the groundwork to keep America from become a second-rate economic power. The young are the future. Don't short-change them.

Fight for a LIVING WAGE!!!
That's how!

Also don't forget to educate ppl about their options, like scholarships, grants, & even a person with 2 jobs will probebly still qualify for Food Stamps & other gov assistance... this will help them get on their feet.

OR help creat a society within a society that is self sustaining (self suficient-ish Muhahahahaha! And is available to anyone and everyone)
;-)
Anarchy baby!

I dunno, but pass the words my way when you find it...

I don't even trust I'll ever even own my own home. When my parents got their little house it was $30-some thousand dollars. Over thirty years ago, and they thought it was expensive then. Now these houses have gained about $200K...how could someone ever afford that? Wages haven't gone up nearly as much as costs have, and there are more costs now then ever... : (

And now you can't really get anywhere without a huge education, but you have to have the money to do that, plus afford to support yourself simultaneously. Then you have to already have "work experience" to get the job... : (

In previous generations, people weren't so weak as to so easily give up hope. I've flipped burgers. I've lived in poverty. I've had two low-paying jobs. But I kept working at improving myself, looking for ways "up the ladder".

The one thing that never occurred to me was to give up and demand that the government bail me out. I never once thought, "Hey, we should confiscate some rich people's money and just give it to me."
