The weather during last week of December is generally pleasant to cold in all these three cities. If you have covered yourself well with woolen cloths, it is the best time to travel around in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
Nothing will be closed during the said time. So don't worry about that.
Just take care of drinking water, use sealed bottled water with 'ISI' or 'FPO' mark. Rest all is fine.

Hi Mari where are you from? Well Christmas time is very ideal to visit Delhi-Agra-Jaipur. The day temperature in Jaipur-Delhi-Agra will be comfortable with light woollens. Since almost all the hotels have airconditioners, the night stay too would be comfortable.
Someone said Christmas has nothing to do with India. Either that person is ignorant or a crank. Christmas is celebrated all over India. The shops will remain open. If you need any assistance, you can contact me.

Whether it will be too cold for you and your kids depends on WHAT temperature you percieve as cold :). Well, the temperature around 25th Dec is approx. 15deg Centigrades (Max) and 5deg Centigrades (Min) .... so you judge for yourself. Weather is clear and sunny, but smog can be expected; hence, if somebody is asthmatic, he/she might have some discomfort during winters over here. I have heard travellers coming from much colder places complain of cold here - this is partly because there are hardly any centrally heated public places (shopping centres, public transport vehicles etc). So you shd. carry good insulating clothes in form of jaquets/overcoats/wind-breakers and woollens.
Power failure can be expected during this time, but the good part is that you will be quite comfortable even without room-heaters/heat-convectors at this tempearture. Besides, nearly all travellers' abodes have gensets/inverters as power back-ups.
Christmas is just another vacation for Delhiites, as Christians comprise of a minority here. Nevertheless, the mood is festive and there are good shopping offers for shoppers. All major shopping centres wear a look to match the occasion. As such, nothing is closed around that time, 25th being an exception (Even so, you will find most of the public places open on 25th).
I won't go into other measures or precautions that u ought to exercise during ur visit to India (your travel guide-book will abound in it).
A word before I leave - Delhi is known for its beautiful parks and heritage monuments, besides the shopping ..... and the winters (i.e., the time of your proposed visit) is the best time to be here. So go ahead .... plan your trip, and E N J O Y!!

Well why not? Its a wonderful time weather wise. It is cool and you will like it.
Christmas has nothing to do with India. So why worry it is at christmas time. India can be seen any time of the year, but it is best during hindu festivals. Wonderful to see.

I totally agree with "GD£ becuase I am also from Delhi. Just to add be prepared for chilly cold winds, in case sun does not come up.
Agree with "rangapadma" about christmas celebrations. I have/had christian freinds and we used to enjoy a lot during these times.

I'd say that's a good time since going to India during summer (and that too North India), it'll be really hot....and there shouldn't be many shops closed for Christmas (some might, but that shouldn't affect too much)...Have a good trip!
