It depends on the age of the youth and how heinous the crime was. If a 10yr old gets a gun and decides to shoot someone....chances are that 6yr old does not fully understand the consequences of his actions. However if a 16yr old takes a knife and stabs someone 30 times just for a thrill kill.....he/she is old enough to realize what they are doing and what the consequences are. Every situation is different.

The Supreme Court held a couple of years ago that executing someone for a crime committed before they turned 18 would be cruel and unusual punishment. Many states try kids as young as 12 or 14 as adults and they potentially can spend the rest of their lives in prison.

I think anyone, no matter age, sex, race, belief etc, who is convicted of a violent crime should be subjected to the threat of the death penalty.
The person's who they acted against, whatever their crime was, had no option so why should they have an option.

A strong penalty for violent crimes is a total necessity to isolate violent criminals from the society they prey on. Death for murder would be appropriate.

I think it depends on the age and previous history of the youth. I believe if a youth commits murder he should be liable.
Young people know right from wrong at a very early age. Ever ask a 2yo if he broke your favorite ....... ?
The youth argument is completely lame if you ask me. And you did.

That depends on how you define "youth". If, God forbid, the youth is under the age of eighteen, then it should be life without possibility of parole.

12 and over should
Reason: Because after you turn 12 no one gives you free meals at restaurants anymore-it's also the legal age of consent in the Netherlands

No, even though the crime was bad, we can't kill kids. We shouldn't even be killing adults!
