OK, I'm hearing all this stuff about that we (US) are 4% of world population but we use 25% of the oil. We are the economic powerhouse of the world also, it makes sense that we would use more oil. So I guess my ? is do we produce 25% of global economic wealth?

Well, according to the U.S. census bureau the trade deficit is about $63.8 billion dollars. Our imports are: $180 billion dollars. The global economy, or World GDP, is set to grow to 3.2%. In 2004, the world GDP was $41.3 trillion, the U.S. GDP, $11.7 trillion. So the U.S. seems to account for about 28% of the world's GDP.
