I saw a light-weight wool 25" dark navy pencil skirt that I would like to purchase going into the fall. Does anyone think that a pair of black leather knee high heel dress boots will look okay with a dark navy colored skirt? or think a different color would look better?
Also, what color of tops would you suggest wearing with it and the boots? Thanks! Carla

I was reading online that black shoes is acceptable with dark navy skirts, but I wasn't sure if it was true with boots.

It depends Carla on how much you let other people influence you.
I like the skirt and think it would look great with the boots. Others will tell you that it won't or that your shouldn't wear the boots.
For me, it doesn't matter what anyone else may think. If I feel good in something, I am going to wear it and not care what anyone else may think. If you like that outfit together wear it and enjoy yourself knowing that you look and feel good!
Take care

I think with the right body, you could def. pull this look off. I would go with a tight fitting black blouse to keep the outfit bi-tonal. Make sure that you add the right accescories though, that will make or break the deal. Like a long necklace doubled over and some great earrings. And go with a belt if the it's appropriate with the skirt. Also, on the blouse, go with a black blouse with a detail or something fun on it to break the monotony of the colors. And hair up. This outfit will be smokin!!

I'd wear them! I don't know if it matters or helps, but I'm 22 and I'd wear those. They're go great with jeans, whether they're under or with a pair of skinny jeans tucked into them. Even with a skirt. Knee-length isn't my personal choice, but it'd probably look good on someone else. The narrow heel and narrow toe make them very cute.. I'd say keep 'em!

Yes very good choice. Pencil skirts and boots , a very classy choice.
Wear a white or cream blouse, and try and find a matching jacket for the skirt

Honestly, I think black goes with anything. I've seen black boots and shoes with many colors and it always looks nice. I have about 20 different colored suits, everything from Plum to mint green and I alway wear black shoes with them and I always get complimented on how nice I look. No one has ever questioned my choice of black shoes.

The boots would look great.
Choose a very bold color for the top.

nah, black boots and a navy skirt don't seemt o match to me. i would go with a brown knee high boot, a brown heel, or a funky gray heel/shoe.

I really like long skirts. My bf wants the brief ones. So my wardrobe is loaded w/ 1/2 and 1/2.
