Thenn get to work Google-ing!!! I'll give you a start, though... both deal with the concept of "separate but equal". Plessy vs. Ferguson (1896) declared that Southern states could have separate railroad passenger cars for whites and blacks (with no intermixing alowed) so long as both sets of cars were of equal quality.

Brown vs. Board of Education (1954) declared that no one was bothering to even try to provide equal facilities for Blacks anymore, so separation was no longer allowed.

It all depends on whether you believe that the phrase "We declare these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal..." means ALL humans, or just white men...

Plessy-Blacks lose. The SC chanced on that Louisiana's prepare of installation separate railroad autos for blacks and whites replaced into proper lower than the structure and did not violate Plessy's rights. Nominally, the centers were meant to be equivalent, yet somewhat black centers weren't so good as those presented to whites. Brown-court overturns Plessy. The doctrine of separate yet equivalent is chanced on to violate the structure. the time-honored public policiy more advantageous by skill of segregating the races is chanced on to not help the violation of those people's rights.

Plessy v Ferguson was the case that ruled that "seperate but equal" was legal, thus saying that segrigation was legal.
Brown v Board was the case that overturned the Plessy v Ferguson case, ruleing that "sperate but equal" was equal only in name, and that segrigation of any public place was unconstitutional
