What the f*** do you mean?

There is a time and a place for all language. When you tail gate me or cut me off in traffic, that's the time for unleashing that stress relieving stream of obscenities that leave me feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the world.

I have tried other words, but as Lewis Black's act bears out, they are just poor substitutes for what really needs to be said.

That being said, I don't think e-mail is one of those places for foul language. Alone in my car, it's ok...out in the public space of Yahoo Answers...it's not cool or polite.

And there are so many other ways to use written language to convey your point.

And remember I'm not cussing at you...but with you! :)

I don't know if people feel that HAVE to use foul language for emphasis or if it's the way they LEARN to emphasize their points...through the media, music, parents, etc.

Because it's a way of expressing certain emotions or feelings. For example, if I shout, "Get out of my house!" it probably means I'm upset and I want the person to leave. But if I say "Get the f*ck out of my house!" it means I'm very upset and I'm also being very disrepectful. I don't think you could express certain things without using profanity sometimes.

Lack of vocabulary. They don't possess a sufficient grasp of language to truly make their point. So, they use the crutch of vulgarity.

When people are extremely frustrated and angry, it's obvious in society that swearing is one of the natural reactions.

When you learn to verbally own someone without swear words, and using intelligence, then you can seriously piss them off even more. :)

They act and talk how the media tells them to talk and act. And they're to lazy to express themselves in more understandable ways.
