You should give yourself at least 3-4 months after you get off the pill to regulate your cycles. If you have sex everyday, that might lessen your chances. Your husband needs to *recover* between the days you have sex.

Australia, Despite what they say how long you were on the pill makes no difference. You do want to pill until at least 30 days before trying. It needs to be completely out of your system before you conceive. You also want to see your Gyno for a preconception visit. The will do some screening and vaccination. They recommend not trying until 30 days after your preconception visit. You also want to start taking prenatal vitamins to insure you get enough folic acid which helps prevents birth defects such as spina bifida. How long it takes is different for everyone. I am a healthy 26 year old, my husband and I have been actively trying for 10 months with no luck. Don't let my situation scare you. Some people manage to get pregnant while on the pill. Please do not have sex anymore than every other day. It is not recommended. Your husbands count needs a change to build back up. Just work on figuring our your cycle. That will be the key. How long is it? How many days prior to menstruation do you ovulate? Do you ovulate every month? (I don't) Are you regular? Pick up an ovulation predictor kit or two at your local drug store. The are self explanatory and very beneficial. Good luck to the both of you. Jenni

you dont *hAVE* to do it every day, you'd be fine with every other day (just throwing that in if you need a break loL). I just wanted to answer b/c with strict charting/temping, it took me about 14 months after stopping the pill to get pregnant.. i just would NOT ovulate normally for that long. thats probably the higher end of the spectrum, but just be prepared for the fact that it might take at least a few months to start ovulating again.

First you want to wait a month after stopping the pill. This will give your body time to get all those extra hormones out of your system. Then there is a song from the musical "Baby"....on the 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, and 17th. When love is in the air we have to wait until these days to concieve. Based on actual ovulation times for women.

Generally in a healthy female it can take anywhere from 1 to 6 months for all of the birth control hormones to get out of your system. Try to have sex every other day instead of every day also. Too much of your husbands sperm can change your natural yeast balance and give you a yeast infection which will Kill ALL of his sperm and you'l lhave to start all over. Above all DO NOT WORRY about it. Stressing can hurt your ovulation cycle(really).
Have Fun trying and good luck!!

i'm in the same boat, i've just come off the pill and have been trying for 3 months. it took me 5 weeks to get my first real period after stopping the pill. general research has told me that it could be 6 months before my body is 'clear' of the pill and back to functioning normally. i've found that i'm really horny when i'm ovulating(more than the rest of the month). have fun and good luck.

i got pregnant my first month off the pill.
you should give your husband at least 24-36 hours to "recover" before having sex again. it takes that long for his body to make more mature sperm. if you have sex too soon, he'll just "shoot" immature sperm that won't be strong enough to fertilize you.
there's a great ovulation calendar at...
http://www.ovulation-calendar.net/?menstrualPeriodMonth=3&menstrualPeriodDay=2&menstrualCycle=29&lutealPhase=14&gender=0&errors=Please%20ensure%20that%20the%20last%20known%20menstruation%20has%20occured%20within%202%20months.
next piece of advice.... try not to over-analyze every little symptom as your period gets closer. remember that the symptoms of pregnancy are really similar to the symptoms of PMS, and most pregnancy symptoms don't show up until you're 7 weeks pregnant or so (long after your test has come back positive).... just relax and wait until you expect your period, and then take a test. if it's negative, take a test once a week until you do get your period.
good luck to you!

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

ovulation is usually around the 13th or 14th day of your cycle. your first day is the first day of your period. since you're just getting off of the pill, you might need a month or 2 to adjust. and then it might take up to a year to get pregnant because of bad timing or anovulatory cycles. I think it takes most people just a few months to get pregnant though, so don't worry and just relax about it. :D

Every day is good.
Actually you ovulate on the 12th day after the start of your period.
You can also check that by taking your temp every morning before you get up. The day you ovulate, your temp will be up.
