DO NOT BANK with them!
They are P"URE EVIL and work to steal money form your account by manpulation of your transactions, holding deposits, zapping transactions from you your account than putting them back in days later when You thoughtthe transaction was already deducted from your balance, they acctually "lost" my deposit that It did in cash at the counter and had me running around to "find" it and once they admited the error they still took a month to put my money in my account (they put my money in someone elses account) they never formally apologized they wanted me to sympathize with them! Even though I was the one that couldn't use my own money and they would not credit my account instantly when they found the misdeposited funds. I spent hours on the phone with them, days sitting in the branch at lunch hour to try to get my money back, it wasn't stolen! BA lost it and without my little slip to prove it they said "you never made the deposit" what the Hello! I have the slip to prove it, it's not like I even did it at the atm I did it at the counter.

If you ever ask for them to credit you for a transaction that shouldn't be on your account they give you provisional credit and than ALWAYS reverse it and falsly deny peoples claims. The reversal gives them a new oppuritunity to force it before completed transactions whcih than "bounces" each and every little transaction you did that "comes in" after they dated the reversal. They love it 35.00 a pop.

In short save your self money frustration, anger and your health DO NOT BANK OF AMERICA!!!

Check on-line for the many many lawsuits and fraud claims with them they are even tied to Enron. Even Wikipedia desribes their banking practices tht maximize the possible of being overdrawn and fee'd to death.

I have had a bad experience with U.S. Bank, but I think Bank of America is great. Have you had a bad experience with Bank of America?

I did years ago. I'd tried to close an unused account & I was promised it was. I'd receive statements stating overdraft fees needed to be paid. The fees exceeded $800 too. After 6 months of this, countless trips into local branches, I finally called the main office in my state. The fees were reversed, an apology was given verbally & I received one in a letter.

I switched to Washington Mutual & had a bad experience there. They closed my account, stating insufficient funds, even though my direct deposit had just gone through. Several visits to the local branch & branch manager later, I agreed to pay back the 2 bounced checks & they agreed not to report me to Check Systems. We came up with a payment plan that spanned 8 weeks. I managed to pay the checks back in 4. 3 years ago, I was working & wanted to open a checking account again. BofA ran my SSN & told me I'd been reported to Check Systems. They also told me if I had proof that I'd paid WaMu back, they'd report to Check Systems that all was paid & I'd get an account with them. I had ALL the money order stubs, made copies & gave one to BofA. They opened my account & I've had no problems since. I also do my banking online & I've only had one bounced check in 3 years. I promptly paid it, plus the fee & my account is in good standing with BofA.

Other than being a complete pain in the rear end trying to continuously sell me HELOC's and insulting me several times when I wouldn't take the bait, I didn't have too many issues with them. Seems they have a forest money trees and are looking to give it away...

OMG...their on-line banking sucks!!! The information is never accurate. Pending debits disappear and pop back up as pending 2 days later!!! It's horrible.
