and I ask answer not rehash old leftist arguements....
they say abortion isnt murder cause the baby is not a life in the womb but a simple mass of tissue. ok if thats the case why does a simple mass of tissue have a heartbeat? why does a mass of tissue have organs? why does it express itself "like kicking and the like? why does it need blood coursing through the veins? and why does a mass of tissue need an umbilical cord to receive nutrients from the mother? only a life has blood in it and need nutrients to live. isnt it just like the nazis who told the masses the lie that the jews werent really a life so when it is killed its not murder hasnt the radical left convinced people the same way? and yet ironicly the same crowd that kills babies wants to save the whales or owls! I guess animals are more important than humans i guess

During my pregnancies I was positive that the "fetus" I was carrying was a baby.............for exactly the reasons you expressed. I cannot for the life of me feel any other way. The kicking really does it! Because of what I experienced I could never advocate an abortion.

So how do you define life?

The "pro-life" argument is usually based on religious reasoning that a soul exists from conception (or before) and thus the unborn is just as human as the rest of us.

Problem with this argument is that we don't all believe the Bible, so that reasoning doesn't belong in everyone's decision-making.

So far we haven't been able to define what constitutes life, much less identify when it begins. So until we can do that, the only life that can usually be considered is the life of the mother. (Rare instances of late-term abortions aside.)

Now, as one of those "leftists" who advocates for abortion RIGHTS (not abortion itself) I'm told that I advocate for murder. Folks, I'm not in favor of abortions! I don't like abortions! I don't want to see abortions! I think abortions should be legal, safe, and rare. It shouldn't be used for birth control.

Unfortunately, it's simply a fact that there are certain circumstances (rape, medical problems, etc.) where an abortion is actually the best choice for the mother. And if you make it illegal, then all those women - and girls! - will suffer for it.

your "statement of fact" about what people believe to be a life is completely over-generalized by making it sound like everyone that believes abortion should be a choice thinks of a pregnancy as "just a mass of tissue". it's absurd to most intelligent people that this statement be true.

there is significant debate over when life begins, especially among those who feel abortion is a woman's choice. i assume you believe that life begins at conception. but for myself and many people, it's not that simple. i don't believe a few cells splitting and multiplying constitutes a human life. however, at a certain point during the pregnancy it is no longer a collection of cells and undeniably human -- at least that's what i believe. don't assume everyone that supports abortion has the exact same view, or that we have an insatiable appetite for "killing babies". your assertion that supporting abortion is a slippery slope to becoming a nazi is ridiculous.

your statement starts with not asking for rhetoric, when that is all you have to offer. it supports the notion that you are (as you suggest) convinced by others what to think

by the way, great point about the animals! way to top off such a strong argument... i know you're not really interested in my answer, in fact you obviously weren't looking for an answer to your question at all, just trying to pick a fight

So if a heartbeat signals the beginning of 'life' the it is okay to abort before the heart forms?

What DOES signal the beginning of life? Heartbeat? Brain activity? When would you consider abortion okay?

I don't think you've thought your position out enough.

Bringing Nazis into it is typical ad hominem. You are also assuming that abortion rights supporters are all conservationists (saving whales and owls). There are plenty of conservatives who support the right of a woman to have an abortion. It isn't just a 'liberal left' thing.

I find it strange that the first thing you compare abortion to is Nazi Germany. Seems like an apples and oranges argument to me. However, the issue of morality is a complicated one, and it shouldn't be up to the US Congress to decide what is moral and what isn't. A lot of people don't agree with Christianity, but that doesn't mean people are going around in droves blowing up churches. And who is to say what is moral and what isn't? Taking slaves is abhorrent to most people these days, and yet for centuries it was the natural extension of conquest. I would rather have a child get aborted anyway than for it to grow up in a home unloved and unwanted. Besides, from a practical standpoint, overpopulation is so prevalent that perhaps it's best if some people choose to end their pregnancies, preventing another person from taking up more resources.

It is but for some sick reason I would rather have a mother who didn't want her child to not bring that poor baby into this world. They are brought into a world of abuse, drugs and
God onlt knows what else. I feel a tiny bit better ( and it is very tiny) about a baby who has had no chance to see the hell in this world just go straight home to our Father. I know that sounds harsh but look at it that way. These people are going to bring that poor defensless baby into a world to torture it and fill our land with evn more hate filled kids. The children of abortion tho never given a chance at life probably never had a chance in the first place, better for them to just pass on to a better place first. This is the only way I can justify what I believe because yes I believe in abvortion for these very reasons

The problem is no one knows when life begins. The embryo cannot survive at this point without being in the mother. No one knows with certainty. The other issue is womans rights. No one single choice is right for every unique individual in every unique setting, so its up to the woman to make a choice about how she feels regarding this issue. Remember, each person and every situation is different no one blanket answer is going to be fitting. Also remember the unanswerable question about when life begins. No one is forcing women to have abortions; The CHOICE is what is available.

Ok, I agree, abortion is a piss poor means of birth control, but if you think by the government outlawing it you are going to do away with it you are doing to many drugs. Facts are facts, boys and girls are going to have sex. Sex makes baby's, and girls are going to get abortions whether they are legal or not. I am 60 and I know when it was illegal that girls still got them, the rich girls went to other country's and the poor girls got them in sleazy motels and in back alleys, many died from infection, many bled to death and even one girl in this town was found dead in an alley with a coat hanger still sticking out of her. Is that what you want for your daughter, your sister, or you friend. This is a moral question and the government has no business legislating morality. It is best done through education, in the church's in the schools, at home. ect. So, think about this it is a reality and maybe just maybe you will understand why I say no to any anti-abortion law.

Sorry, but there's a little flaw in your logic. Anything with basic processes are living. Sperm is an example. Did you know that spermicide is in a condom? The "cide" suffix pronounces it as a killing or killer element. In other words, you're killing living sperm. The exact same logic applies to the morning after pill. The pill KILLS what could be a child. It kills it before it can become a zygote. Problem is, killing it would be the same as abortion as it doesn't allow the cell to become a child. And the same with condoms. So wearing a condom and using a morning after pill are the same as commiting abortion. Be sure to tell your child this, unless you still kill your sperm.

Contraception is a choice. Saying No is a choice.

I can see abortion being available in the case of rape or a serious medical problem, but in this day and age, people have choices that can prevent pregnancy.

I am not a church going kind of person, but I do believe that life is sacred and abortion is taking a life.
