Two areas of my job (not mine) are staffed by mostly women. One of the labs has about 5 witches and a male manager, and the witches scare off all the new employees with their cattiness.

This lab has had 6 employees quit in a year. The most recent employee is ready to leave after a month because of these witches. I like her and I want to bring her into my department, but she has to be there for a year.

I have never worked with a lot of women, so I don't know how to address this.

Give the rookie female employees this advice:

Ignore them and do your job better than them because you aren't busy gossipping and being a biotch.

That's always worked for me- also just avoid letting any of your personal information slip into their slimy hands but when confronted by any of them just keep it simple and cordial.

Work harder and you will advance and be telling them what to do then they'll hate you but they won't be able to do anything about it!!!

I work in an office that's 85 % female. There is only one female manager, and pretty much all the men are the managers or bosses. Sucks out loud, but that's reality. I confront catty women straight out. I don't let ANYONE get away with stupid crap. It helps that I'm very good at what I do, and I've got the respect of most of the bosses, because hey.......I cut their checks. haha. But in an office situation, it's found in large and small offices alike. You will always have some of "those" girls that are not happy unless they are making others unhappy. Best thing to do is remind yourself that you are there to WORK, and the second best thing to do is be the best at what you do. That gains you respect, promotions, etc.
I agree with the response of one of the others, that you do not want to bring this to the boss. The boss doesn't want to hear negativity in the workplace, even if you are trying to help the situation. Speaking negatively about other co-workers only makes you look bad.
Tell the rookie to hang tough if it's a good job. Ignore the cattiness of the other women, and rise above it. She was hired to do a job, and the other women do not sign her paycheck, so she should stay away from them, and not give them any reason to target her.

This is absurd. If you need a job you don't quit. I've worked with witches, b!tches ( mostly men ) , sexual harassers ( female ) and simply pure garbage. I've never quit. She must perform her job well and ask her manager about her job performance. If he or she is happy with her work then F the other co-workers. Stick it out for a year and transfer to another department. If she quits then that means she simply didn't want the job bad enough.

stay away ..stay far away...i hate catty women!

i would not tell them anything or talk to them more than need be. Ignore Ignore Ignore them too. If you don't think your boss will support you then i would not share my concerns about them w/him. Some men don't want to deal with it and will tend to think all women are making it up (not sure yours is like this, but i have had some in the past like this) the boss should start wondering why hes losing employees like crazy but then again men aren't always the most observant he he..

How do I cope? I run my a$$ off before I go to work, I am either too happy or too frickin worn out to get involved...one time I had just had it though, this lady was just riding me about my healthy lunch, teasing me, sing songing about orGANic,orGANic, orGANic, and I lost it and told her actually it was the best tasting turd I ever ate, adn she was all shocked!! I said hey, you sit there giving me all kinds of grief, but don;t think I'm gonna give it back, you don;t know me very well, do ya?
She was actually nice to me the rest of the day/ I'm still watching for the knife in my back though, that's just the way it is. I also practice my yoga breathing exercises discreetly to relax.

It is tough! Root out the "Ring-Leader"...for it will help you to identify the source of some of this...and it will always be someone they fear will jeopardize their jobs...so they feel they can't fight it...so they do the worst thing possible...they join it...in an effort to stay afloat. If you can see it; they can too..but they don't know how to get out of it. It is commendable that you have managed to remain above the fray...and not participate in it. The best thing you can do is identify it...and do some "rooting out" of your own. Good Luck!

.44 Caliber Smith and Wesson, the most powerful handgun in the world, and will blow their heads clean OFF their shoulders.
Unfortunately, it's a bit illegal, for some reason, soooo, afraid you'll have to find a different method.
