First just to let you know I am white and 52 years old. I don' t think that blacks are more criminal. Over the years the population of the jails by blacks has increased., but it isn' t just due to being a cop target. As the morals of our society have declined the out of wedlock births have increased. Kids really need a male role model in their life and usually there isn't one. It is tough to raise kids as it is and so many times without a male bread winner the kids are raised in poverty. Poverty leads to desperation , desperation to crime.Out of wedlock births are happening in all of the races. But the statistics show that it is happening more in the black race.
Without male role models more kids drop out of school and of course are doomed to poverty thru no job or a low paying job. So the cycle continues.
I don' t understand why the black leaders (Rev. Jackson etc.) don't push or even really encourage the kids to stay in school. At one time in the days of slavery it was illegal for blacks to go to school or even learn to read and write. You would think that since this is no longer true that everyone would be very insistent that the kids take advantage of their educational rights!
Bottom line is years of forced ignorance from the slave days has caused these situations. It is hard to teach your children if you are uneducated yourself and without education it is difficult to rise up out of poverty.

You only want "white" people to answer? Why? Do they have some take on the system that nobody else has? Your question is already geared for a certain answer.
Hispanics belong to the "white" race, because they're considered part of the Caucasoid race. Hispania was the older name for Spain, so their lineage would be traced back to Spain, provided they've done traced their genealogy. I'm not sure how that makes them a minority. So why keep tabs on who is first, who is second in leading the minorities? Does it matter? Whether or not they're considered "minorities" is worthless information to me. I'm half Anglo/half Filipino. Who cares.
The answer depends on the location, population, time, etc. Are "you" more criminal? I wouldn't know. Only you can answer that. Asking me to generalize with an answer to a generalized question is slanted.
Just like any other profession, there are always going to be unscrupulous people. It's no different with the police. There are those who focus on blacks only. Do I think every cop out there is like that? No. I think some do bust criminals who HAPPEN to be black. They can't help it that the criminal they're arresting is black. Should they make concessions for criminals who are black? Wouldn't that be acting with prejudice? But I know it exists. Do I think that's the reason why you claim there are more blacks in jails? I wouldn't know. I haven't surveyed every single jail in America, so I can't answer that question.

Yes and no. I have to say yes because it is true that there are more blacks in the prison population than there should be statistically. I have to say no because I don't believe that black people are any more criminally inclined than any other race. I do know that too much of the crime is drug related. I think that one solution would be to assist at risk children in seeing the opportunities that are out there and helping young people find better outlets for their energy than being on the street. Where I live, the majority of the violent and not so violent crimes are committed by Latino gangs.
With regards to the comments about being hunted by police more, I think that there is cause to believe that. It breaks my heart to think that someone is mistreated just because of their skin color. I won't tolerate that sort of behavior around me and I hope others will do the same.

Yes, without a doubt. Such as from the 1970s-1980's the Crips and the Bloods; that is nothing more than tribal warfare they brought from Africa. Blacks in general are less evolved than Asians or Whites. When the first peoples left Africa and settled in Asian and Europe, they had to adapt to the cold climates and find new ways to survive. Africans didn't need to that, except remain the same way they have over the past 100,000 years. So they never evolved past the basic human being. In the past 600 years that Africans have been coming to the Western World, they haven't evolved enough to understand the complexity of European or Asian thinking, which is why they lag behind.
Blacks are more criminal than other races indeed, look ad the down trotten African-American neighborhoods. There has to be more cops in Black areas to stop the hourly violence.
Also in my research, the best places to live, ALWAYS have an extremely low population of African-Americans. Of a Population of 250,000, only 1600 were African-American. about 5000 claimed to be mixed. It has the lowest crime rate in the nation. On the other hand, Washington DC, Oakland, New Orleans and other cities with Higher populations of Blacks, there tended to have higher crime rates and have the highest crime rate in the Nation.
Nations like China and Iceland have the lowest crime rates in the world. Compared to South Africa, with one of the highest.

Thanks for the b/a and your funny. I like your questions. But ok to the question, I'd have to say partly a poverty thing, partly a culture thing (like societal pressures are different among races) and partly a stigma thing. There are plenty of black and white cops and hispanic cops and asian cops but yeah, I think a lot of people make assumptions including cops when they see someone who's black, or young for that matter, or of any race. There are even some black cops that assume other blacks are up to no good. It's a shame. But really, when it comes down to it, People that are in Jail Did SOMETHING they weren't supposed to be doing. In that respect, it doesn't matter the color of someones skin. We all do bad things and I'd have to really see statistics to believe that more of any race is in jail. And hey, I'm a blonde, don't you think cops are profiling me in some way? That they think I'm dumb and can't help running that stop sign. OK maybe not but you get the point.

No, it's like this, generally minorities start out life in a pit and need to climb a taller ladder to get out. Obstacles of life; peer pressure, internal prejudice, external prejudice, white world malarkey, black on black crime, stereotyping, discrimination from all directions, scapegoating, and hurricanes.
It's naive for a black person to think they are the only ones subject to obstacles of life.
Read this carefully, no one is getting in your way to live a good life. You are your worst enemy. You don't need white people around to blame.
If you wonder about prison populations being out of skew with the ethnic percentages, one thing you may blame is the disruption of the family nucleus. In your mind you may trace that back to slavery, and racism, but no one is preventing you from picking up a book and reading it with zeal, because education makes a huge difference for anyone.
The majority of blacks which we hear about in the news are from rough neighborhoods. Many cases of young men, future leaders, come from these neighborhoods. It's a matter of individual choice.
Don't worry the Hispanics will fill the prisons soon enough. In our area the Hispanics are hard core syndicate type criminals. They work like the mofia, with their hands into every type of crime they can squeeze money from without doing an honest day of work.
I just know what I see around our area and black children are raised very differerntly than other ethnic groups. Maybe not for the middle class blacks, but the low income and poverty families life is served on a different plate.
Law enforcement profiling is a consern for the average guy, but remember the methods used have a purpose to shake the bad fruit from the tree.

I don't necessarily think blacks are more criminal. In fact, I'm sure they aren't. But it appears to be that way because, like you said, all the jails are filled with black people and when you turn on the news, it's filled with various robberies and murders committed by black people.
I think part of it has to do with class. Poor people are going to get into more trouble that they cannot get themselves out of. I know white boys that act criminal, but they aren't the ones being hunted, mainly because they have money and people aren't terrified of them. Plus, if they did happen to get caught, stereotypical speaking, they'd have more money to handle it, i.e. not have to go to jail because of a better lawyer.

Honestly, I think it's a little bit of both.
Blacks have a reputation (earned or not) for committing crime, so cops probably keep a closer eye on them and cut them fewer breaks.
It's also a bit of the apparent breakdown of Black society. Whatever caused it, it seems like Black culture leads to more youth violence. I'm not an expert, and I mean no offense, but it appears the family unit has broken down amongst blacks moreso than other races. That's bound to lead to more crime.

Yes, there is a much higher percentage of criminal element in the black community than the white. No one seems to know why. It is not caused by poverty or race relations. If you can figure out how to fix it- you can be rich.

there better not be racist cops! that's terrible! i think that its because most blacks live in a more poor area because they were raised poor and that's how they turned out, so they live in places were there is more crime and they get into doing it to. Its not because there black that they start getting into the crime thing is because there human, and people get caught up in there environment. but i think that there are also some racist cops, and that is terrible! i don't know very many blacks, but the ones i do know are so much fun, and are so sweet! but im moving to CA, and that will be a great experience for me
