They actually did a study on that on Channel 2 News (In the New York area) and they actually had two brands that worked out well.
they actually made a great difference. If I am not mistaken, I think Nutrogena has one out and that was one of the best brands to get.

it definitely make you a different color.. more of an orange color than really tan.. It also won't protect you from ultra violet rays....
And it's only temporary.. and costs a lot to get..

i got one and loved it the first few days....then it started to go yucky in the cracks of my skin (like my elbows and stuff) then i got a full body rash.....that happened both times

It will work yes but also, you will be more orange then brown. You can tell it is fake.
