regardless of the career path, it is up to YOU as to whether it is successful or not.

i believe it was dr. king who said (paraphrase) "if you are going to be a street cleaner, be the very best street cleaner you can be."

Success is relative. A marine biologist will spend a lot of time in the field doing research and caring for animals possibly at a zoo or aquarium. A forensic scientist will be in a lab performing analyses in the specific area of the lab he/she is assigned to (Hair/fiber/dna/paint chips/fingerprints/etc.). Most people easily confuse a forensic scientist with a crime scene investigator who is the person actually responding the the scene and collecting/preserving the evidence...which is a heck of a lot less redundant than a forensic scientist. I've done the whole forensic lab bit...it gets old VERY quickly.

Why.. Ru thinking of studying one or the other? (good for you.) I read the other answers w/interest.. I liked the idea (Martin Luther King.. the street cleaner concept) "be the best at whatever.." (true.. ) You want to be happy. I guess by success you mean making a lotta money..? It's nice to like what you do along with that too, right? sure. I think both careers can be boring (redundant).. I mean the last fellah mentioned it 'getting old fast' as he was a forensic scientist. (And yes, I did think as he said that he was 'quincy..' I imagine it IS just a bunch of boring/routine lab word, the forensic scientist.) Do you like the outdoors? animals? I say go for the marine biologist thing.. (If you get seasick, skip it tho!) ha.. I hate the sight of blood (mine, anybody's) and so I'd forgo the for. sci. thing (for ME) here. You need to bone up on your math skills (for anything scientific) by the way.. You can do it!!

It depends on what your definition of success is. Where do you think you would find the most satisfaction? Do you think that you would find more satisfaction in studying the marine life or finding out how a person died (and so on)?

even if it is a well paid job... 1st marine biologist and forensic scientist the job scope is so different.
u may be paid well in one of the jobs.. u have to enjoy wat u do.

it is miserable to be doing something u dont like ya?

he or she could be a marine biologist who happens to be a creationist. as quickly as you get previous origins technology and get into operational technology it is the same old watching and recording of repeatable activities. creation isn't a repeatable experience.

if you want to make more money, go into the medical field (nursing, physician's assistant, lab tech, you get the picture). it's better job security and the job outlook is always brighter.
