What would you do if you really liked someone but they lived in a different STATE you just moved from? Should I stay in touch with him or should I just try to call him sometimes and stay in touch? We were pretty good friends but I wanted to be more than that.

Keep in touch, but don't let those feelings keep you from finding someone who might be better suited. It sounds like you and he weren't going to hook up even if you stayed.

You could keep in touch with him,but wouldn't it be better to seek him out. Go out and find him?
But it would be pretty hard to keep in touch.

If he appears intersted in keeping in touch I would do so, but keep your expectations low, because physical distance can put a strain on a relationship.
