Okay, so when I asked why the yanks can't play cricket, I got alot of "intelligent" responses about the break with British tradition etc, etc. So why then do Americans love another British sport, golf, so much?

I think you did not see my answer to your previous questoin. There I am a bit different.

It does not depend on the country or the people who invented it. It just depends on the interest of the people. I think the game of Golf had attracted the people more than the cricket over there so they like playing golf rather than cricket. The main thing is that the people should like then any type of game will be a good game.

Hope you understand the difference as it depends on the interest and not the country which had invented it.

Last time I knew, baseball is America's answer to Cricket, unless your talking about the dart game.

Besides, there are different rules for golf in The United States than in Great Britian.

Whether a country plays a game or not depends on the people and the intrest developed by the people developed by the people and that getting reflected by the governament is what leads to a game being played by a country. the Britsh did invent cricket but are they good now. what could be the reason . It could be only one thing lack of intrest in the game by the people and more people moving on to football. Thus whether a game is played by a country depends soly on the intrest exibited by the people.
