OK, everyone needs to go to equine school!

a FOAL is a baby horse...a colt is a baby boy horse...a filly is a baby girl horse!

A pony is a "horse" (not really) under 14 hands(equal to three inches I think...quick research, could not find it). Ponies have a stockier build, and a slightly different shaped head from a mini horse. You can breed a pony to a horse and get a pony, you will never get a horse. (I owned a pony bred to a horse...colt never reached 14 hands).
A mini horse is not a pony at all, but a shrunk down horse. Standard is 28-38 inches at the withers (shoulder).

a miniature hrose is a breed and a pony is an equine under 14.2 hands. A hand equals 4 inches. minis have a height standard and they cant be over a certain number of hands but i forget what that is. A pny can grow into a horse (once it reaches 14.3 it is a horse) but a horse cannot become a pony. There are many pony breeds out there lik the Welsh cob or the Haflinger or the Shetland. There are many horse breeds that can have a pony in them. Some Arabians can be small enough to be a pony.

Technically there arn't Mini Ponies, yet Miniature Horses. yet many times we call Miniature Horses Miniature Ponies. yet even as someone calls one a Miniature Pony they're speaking about Miniature Horses, so surely they're a similar component, people only use diverse names for them.

Heh..

If people think that ponies are baby horses, than my parakeet must be a baby condor. They're two different entitites.

Ponies are small horses. They are *NOT* baby horses. Ponies do NOT grow into horses (They have a very rare chance to do that).

Miniature horses are a breed that are, indeed, miniature horses. Ponies are small equines, which are foul, evil creatures.

Never own a Pony. Never.
