I don't remember the first book I've ever bought, but if you are looking for the first book you should buy I would recommend King Fortis the Brave. It's a great book that will keep you turning the pages.

It depends on how old you are, i would say Lord Of The Flies by william Golding or Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck. Both are excellent.
