My guy friend has noticed that there is a lump right below his chin on his right side, its above his adams apple. When he presses on it it doesnt hurt. When he moves his neck he can tell that it is there.
What could this be??

Two different Dr's have told you this is an infection. It has responded to antibiotics. Sounds like it is a resistant infection that needs a further course of antibiotics. Cancer does not respond to antibiotics, this sounds nothing like cancer.

swollen lymph node, tell him to have a doctor check it out
(p.s. if it is above the adam's apple, it can't be thyroid, that is below)

thyroid or parathyroid cancer. Don't panic simply because I said cancer, but do go to a doctor and get that checked out without delay.
I hope it is nothing serious.
