Wow. Your pets, and your love for them is amazing. I read your words and wonder how on earth anyone could abuse a pet. The world is a better place because of people like you.

ive always loved animals since i was a kid, had many dogs big and small since the day i was born, but when my parents moved to the states i was only 4. i begged them from the day i arrived for a dog and it was either a 'not right now' or a 'it costs too much'. at 11 i had a serious incident that left me in the hospital for 3 months, after the recovery my parents finally thought the best thing would be was to get me a dog to be a good companion, a pet that would make a kid smile a bit more...the summer of 1994, my parents bought me a puppy black lab we called, Laika. she has always been the little love of my life and still is, being the best companion, although i had 2 older sisters, i always played with her, hehe..i recall playing, the hide and go seek game inside a tiny apartmente and you know how black labs are pretty big dogs, imagine seeing one running around in circles with a little girl jumping and up and down. hehe.. memories... now she is 12 years old, still pretty hyper as the day she came home, as im away from home now studying abroad, she has become my parent's '4th' child. i still miss her a lot and when ever i fly back she gets too happy to see me.

so....thats one story..hehe..jk..im not going to write you another book here...my other pets that are special to me are and were, my turtle Princeton (another wild long story as how he landed in my hands) after having him for 8 years just last summer i took him to the Way station were take in wild animals found or abused to a place they can stay forever, its like an animal sanctuary. i just couldnt take care of him anymore and it was for the best for him to be a spot where he would enjoy much more.

then go my little birds santiago and lola, (another crazy story and realize all of these pets aside from my dog, i never bought). again they are at my parents' house, chirpping and singing all day long, they get pretty affectionate.

and last be not least, my rabbit Chikee. he's my other little love of my life. living away in italy, long story put into short, i found him left off in the middle of a main street. couldnt bare to see a little rabbit risking his life to get run over i picked him up and took him home. he is a complete companion, whenever im down, he's the little buddy i run to and hug and kiss. the special thing about him is that he is a deaf little rabbit, he was liek that since the day i found him, so he is never scared of anything. he can fall asleep belly up on your lap and while the music is blasting, you can take him to see the fireworks on a holiday, when lighting strikes hell just look at you and say, 'are you ok?'. he is the best!

theres my story of ALL of my special pets that never in the future will ever be replaced... :)

I would say that right now I have a 13 year old male Tabby cat that never could be replaced. about 12 years ago he just picked me as his human and he hasn't left since. He'll sit in the front window of my house for 6 hours waiting for me to go home. He won't eat until I pet him. He has to be asked for permission to pick him up. He'll get in between me and any other cats or humans. He literally follows me from one end of the house to the other over and over. If he doesn't get his morning snuggles he's a pain in the butt for the rest of the day. He answers to a special whistle. He makes sure that the rest of the cats are fed before he eats..(he's the head of the pack obviously). He cornered a German Sheppard on our porch once. If I'm on the phone or not paying enough attention to him he'll jump on my desk and rustle papers until he drives me nuts... if that doesn't work he'll deliberately knock something off the desk and look to see if I'm looking. He's pretty intense. He's just hilarious most of the time. He get's mad if he's tired and ready for bed and I don't accompany him to bed. But he really is a big love bug. He loves meeting new people. He'll never be replaceable ever.

My dog Jake. He is a mutt (stands for Most Unique Totally Terrific).
He is the greatest guy in the world. He sleeps on my feet when I am cold, gives the puppy kisses when I am not in the best of moods, catches EVERYTHING on the fly, and is just the greatest with my 2 kids. He is the best friend a guy could ever have.

Yes, her name is Deuce. She's a two year old Polydactl cat. She is the most loving, playful, and funniest cat I have ever had. She'll sleep by me like she's a stuffed animal or do amazing acrobatic tricks. I keep joking with my husband that I'm going to take out a second mortgage and get her cloned.

I had to have my 14 year old dog put down in April. I've had many dogs in my life but she was most special to me. I don't think I'll ever get another it's just too painful when the end comes. Instead I got a kitten to fill the void. She's a sweetie.

My cat, Wickham. He was an older cat, a stray, when I took him in. He was probably more like a dog than a cat. Like he would meow at the door if someone knocked, among other things. All I had to do was say "Wick" and he would prance into the room. My husband, a self-professed cat hater, cried when we had to put him to sleep and even offered to get me another cat. I can't really do him justice.

I had a rat for two and a half years and I loved her so much. I know most people think rats are gross but there not. There adorable loving creatures that are intelligent and love attention. It was so sad when my rat died but I remember all the time I spent with her and it was great!

my tarantula is a pet that can never be replaced. she is still alive, but i know that when she dies no other tarantula can take her place.

i know it sounds like i am making this up, but i'm not. i never thought i could get attached to a 'bug', but i can. i have raised her since she was the size of a quarter. now she is bigger than my hand.

when it comes to tarantulas and her species, she is very docile. she has never bit anyone or even tried. she mistook my hand one time for food, but quickly pulled away.

i could never replace her. i know i am weird, but GOD loves me :o)!!!

I have my cat, Frankles, who can never be replaced. He's the most lovable cat ever. He loves me, he talks to me, he tells me stories, he drools on me... A week after I got him, I had to take him to a vet.... the vet said he'd never seen a cat develop such a close attachment to a human in so little time (the cat will literally put his arms around my neck and cling to me...).
