What Organaztions? Every Shelter Does it as Part of the Adoption Fee...We actualy LOOSE money on every animal we adopt for $65 after getting it healthy, doing all those Shots, HW checks, FEline Leukemai Tests($30) We have to Pay a Vet to do Surgery!..Microchipping so we can get pets back to people if they get lost....Check out All the Low Cost Clinics..They are losing Money...They do it because they care! I have Never seen a VET charge over $200 to get Anything fixed..My Greyhounds cost me $55 a peice That was Full Price at My Vet!Vets have overhead..Staff to pay, Drugs to buy, Supplies, Everything...You need to call your local Vets and Recheck your prices..
Everyone Wants something for nothing...If you want a Pet, Save money BEFORE you get it and be ready for these costs....People dont mind paying Big Bucks to a back yard breeder for What they think is a certain breed and it turns out to be a low quality , sickly dog that has to suffer because"I Cant Afford the Vet" Grow Up!!!!!

Well, they do that because there are millions of animals lovers in the world, and they know they will do anything to make sure they live. So,the vets harness this idea,"With all the animals lovers out there,we can make millions by charging high prices to get them fixed!".It,all so because now a days people will do just about anything for $.Here's and example: There is a millionaire and a homeless man,and millionairee tells him if he jumps off a cliff he'll give him $50,so the guys jumps, dies, and the millionair steals his money back, see?!

To make money of course but I have to agree at times it is a lot to pay for your animal to get the care they need. I love my pets of course but if I can still get quality care for my pets at reasonable prices I'm taking it.

My local vet charges $65 for females dogs and cats and an extra $15 for males to get them neutered and spade and they have been in business for close to 20 years so that shows a lot. I can go to my local Feed and Grain Store who have been in business for 30+ years and get vaccination shots for only $8.75 and do it at home.

They are some organizations who do free vaccinations and neuter and spay for free. But I have never heard of an organization charging more than a $100 to care for a pet. I don't think you can get upset that some clinics charge so much, just go out and do your research and find a reasonable veterinarian you can trust.

It was $60 for my male dog and $125 for the female. Sometimes when you adopt them, they give you a certificate with a certain $ off. If you choose not to have them fixed, make sure that no other animals are around.

One of the responsibilities of being a pet owner is taking care of all their medical needs. If you're upset about the price of getting an animal spayed, which includes surgery, anesthesia, stitches, and after care then maybe pet ownership isn't the thing for you.

It makes perfect sense to me. They are trying to earn a living so they need to make some profit. Then they have to pay their assistant's wages and medical insurance. Then they have to pay their rent, utilities, etc on their office. Then they have to pay for the medical equipment which is outrageously expensive. On top of that they have to pay for the anesthesia and everything else they use during surgery. Then they have to pay for the surgical room to be totally sterilized. It's not cheap for them either.

From their standpoint, the outrageous fees make perfect sense. They are cashing in. They are in the business to make money like everyone else. Just because they are doctors trying to save lives doesn't exempt them from wanting top dollar for their services.

If you want to sell anything, you have to inform the paying public that they need your product. That's business.

Although it may not seem like it, those procedures do cost money. Dr's pay, medicine, boarding assistant pay, etc...... I would pay what ever it costs to keep a pet that I love and plan on keeping rather thatn turning it loose or having it put "Down".
