I swear by a Pela oil extracter (extractor? I always get the ers and ors confused) I use it on my mower and my cars. I could change the oil in my car in a suit with this thing. No muss, no fuss, the waste oil is easy to deal with and recycled at the gas station.

Transaxles are sealed units, lubed for life and usually packed with bentonite grease, this grease will take on moisture (won't affect the lubes performance) and thin out when hot..... and cause a little seepage maybe.
