YOU KNOW WHAT ABE LINCOLN WENT THROUGH, NOW LOOK WHAT THE SOUTH IS DOING. THEY ARE DESTROYING AMERICA FROM WITHIN WITHOUT A WAR.

ONLY IN THE SOUTH WILL YOU FIND DEMOCRATS THAT ARE REPUBLICANS.

The sun heated and baked their brains years ago so it's sort of a mutation now...

When the industrialization of America began in the 1800's. The North quickly prospered while the south remained primarily agricultural in nature. I always thought it was an underlying resentment.

have you been to the south ever? I have lived practically on the border of the u.s. and america for years, and i recently moved to Georgia. I find that the people down this way are a lot frienlier.

You realize that Abe lincoln wanted to send all the slaves back to africa right?

But i do agree with you that they should let the south suceed, and just watch what happens.

I wouldn't really say that the south is a problem for America. I live in the south and would say that I love the culture. It's a bit more laid back and a bit friendlier than other parts of the country that i have been to. My only complaint is the low wages. But other than that, based on my experience of also living up north, I would say that social problems exist in every part of the country. But every part has their positive aspects also.

I don't think your generalization makes any sense and I'll prove it to you:

--New Orleans and Miami are Southern Cities, yet they are heavily Democratic and liberal to some extent.

--There are many rural areas in the North where people are very conservative.

The fact is, urban cities tend to be more liberal or moderate-conservative leaning, whereas rural areas are more right-wing conservative leaning. And that is THE CASE IN NEARLY EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. Believe me, there are many super conservative people in Europe in the countryside who will always vote against policy that is more in tune with left-wing ideology. Many people here fail to understand the main problem: two political parties is just not enough. There are many conservatives that are moderate, but who support Bush who is more of an ultra-conservative, simply because there is only the right and the left and nothing in between...That is what we need: a broader spectrum and more political parties across the board...

And why do you idiot liberals always think that all conservatives live in the south and have no education? I live in a mid Atlantic state and I have two degrees. I guess that's two more than you. Good thing nothing has happened between 1865 and 2006, huh?

because the northern part of america are all democrats which are different then republicans.Republicans come from rich south families like president Bush he is from a rich family that lives in the south in texas. The northern are always democrats because they are not wealthy with big power the republicans want to put taxes on the poor people, but the democrats want to put taxes on the rich people because thr rich guys have more money.

I am very interested to know how you think "the south" is destroying america from within (apparently by being secret republicans)

I think there are republicans in all states

Are only the "democrats that are republicans" destroying our nation, or are all republicans (or is it all democrats)?

You have me confused, but interested.

WOW,,, Have you noticed that too. It seems like everytime the "SOUTH" gets in charge in this country it goes totally down hill on a slippery slope.
