Mocha . . . because she is white with large calico spots on her head, neck, back and tail that look like chocolate and cafe au lait.
Makayda . . . because a friend suggested I name her for the Queen of Sheba. She looks like a Russian Blue or Oriental cat and is very regal. I found the Queen of Sheba's name was Makeda and changed it slightly.
Pirate (recently deceased) because my 4 year old son picked out a Siamese (with white toes and moustache) at a pet shop at the beach--we needed a beach name for a male cat. (Sandy just wasn't right.)

I just lost my oldest baby, 15 years old in Feb. he was my rock, his name was blue..he was a mix, that my husband who passed 2 years ago found in a cardboard box in a dumpster with his mom and siblings...all shot. He was all the way at the bottom and by the grace of God he was spared by the maniac who did that to them. His name was blue cause he had huskie in him and he was an all black dog with one brown eye and one bright beautiful blue eye...enough said. I still have Eddie, a pitbull female we got at 4 weeks old because a kid got her and couldnt keep her so he was just going to leave her outside in the middle of November in NY to freeze. i almost killed this kid and took the pup she is 6 now, and doing wonderful, she is named after my ex's dead brother...long story. Those two dogs were inseperable...she's adjusting just as i am trying to deal with his absence but it is so hard, i know everyone says this but he was such a brilliant, great dog in every way a dog can be, never had any training.

My cat's name is Dude. I had named him something else (really lame) but at the time I was going through a phase where I was saying "dude" all of the time, so when he would act up I'd say, "dude, cat, knock if off," and eventually he just got that that was his name.

My family's dog's name is Snappy because he likes to snap at bees and other animals. He's friendly to humans though. By the way he's a Greman Shephard. He's also 12.5 years old (that's actually pretty old for a German Shephard).

I named my fluffy cat Nala because she looked like the Nala from the Lion King. I named her daughter Kiara because Nala (from the movie) also had a daughter named Kiara.
