Hyperinflation of the German mark and massive unemployment in Italy led to the rise of these demigods, in my opinion.

European Economies (especially Germany) were in the worst depression they had ever seen. In Germany, the Mark was so devalued that people actually burned them for warmth instead of spending them because you would have to haul a wheelbarrow full of money to the store to buy a loaf of bread. The Weimar Republic in Germany was basically a total failure, they had a very hard time building anything of use to Germany with the Treaty of Versailles in the way. Germany was expected to pay for most of the war reparations, and thus had no money to rebuild. The only reason Hitler was allowed to come to power was the weakness of the Weimar Republic and the unreasonable conditions set forth by the Treaty of Versailles. This was only compounded by the rampant unemployment and poverty put forth not only by the depression, but also the Guilt Clauses of the Treaty of Versailles which required huge monetary sums to be paid to the victors of ww1.

When countries become incredibly poor people seek answers as well as food and employment. Sometimes they lose all rational thought. Mob rules and they seek out someone to blame. It's very easy to blame one group for all your problems and I'm sure we will see the likes of Hitler and Mussolini again. When you don't have anything and death is knocking on your door you don't have much to lose. Sorry, but watching your loved ones die will bring out the worse in some of us. I'm not saying that will happen to everyone in that situation but that the possibility is there.

after world war one all the countries signed the the treaty of Versailles which meant that Germany had to pay for all the damages caused by world war one. this led to a colapse of the German economy ( 1us dollar= 1 000 000 German marks literally) this allowed Hitler to take power with great ease. with Hitler in Germany started to regain their economy and military. and all other powers thought that the Germans had enough punishment and deserved it. which led to the virtual ignorance that came with it. also the league of nations wasn't as powerful as today's united nations and was basically for show only. and Mussolini was a dick

Black Sabbath is dead on with his essay.
Chance are, if the treaty of Versailles had not been shoved down Germany's collective throat (which Wilson tried to prevent, but he died prematurely), WWII would have never happened. In a way it was really a continuation of WWI

Why ask to be spoon-fed with information by others who don't know that much about the subject anyway? Go straight to "Mein Kampf" (My Struggle) at your public library, and unabridged on the Internet, and get it straight from Adolph Hitler. Bear in mind, I don't have any love for Hitler, but he did serve his country in WWI and was nearly blinded by mustard gas.
