Good question I have had long debates over this one
It depends.

The Aliens require time to breed and without a large population of hosts initially, then the Predator may easily overwhelm the Queen and the huggers, by superior technological advantage. The Predator no doubt has technological advantage over the Aliens and one on one, in face to face combat the predator wins. However the Alien does not prefer one on one combat and attacks from the shadows, if the initial strike (tail through Gut) is successful and is undetected then the Alien wins. Unfortunately the first example of Predator ingenuity is its ability to change its sight and detect its prey, human, aliens and other predators alike. This makes the success rate of the Alien relatively lower. The toys the predator has to play with and its ability to kill make it the more impressive warrior and is easily a match against a large amount of Aliens. This is where the weakness of the Predator lays, its inability to reproduce at a sustainable rate, they rely on technology to win and going down that course is that every warrior they lose the worse.
The Aliens rely on there biological ability and mass numbers. Firstly the Hugger is vicious all in itself; all that is required is a Queen and no host. While having the advantage of having acidic blood they are also are very fast and agile for their prime directive. To infect a host. Once the Host is infected they are more or less dead. There is no way to remove the hugger from the host without killing it. In large numbers the Huggers are the first obstacle and without a mask then Predator is dead, also need to be careful when blowing them up due to the acid factor. Again to produce large numbers of them takes time and a successful hunt for a host is desired. Nonetheless only takes one of these things to bring down a predator. --> Predalien
Secondly the Warrior. The Warrior is the result of a successful host and incubation process of a Human or a Predator as stated there primary goal is to find more hosts, failing that to protect the hive, if required to kill or there is no Hive to protect they become more aggressive. There hard exo-skeleton is a sound defense and tail/ jaws are enough to break predators amour, and his acidic blood is more than enough to kill a predator even when the alien has died. If there are large numbers a single predator cannot withstand them, as they attack from all directions at once.
The Queen- big, strong, mean.... you get the picture, a group of predators are required to bring it down. It is a souped up warrior and is the Hive, does not need to rely on stealth and is fast. If a predator manages to defeat all the huggers/ aliens (which they are more or less physically equal with then, it is doubted they will survive the Queen.

Finally the odds are not in the Predators favor, unless they can send a group and take out the Queen before the Hive is formed then they may win. If the Hive has been formed and there is a good numbers, the predator is simply too outnumbered to win. Unfortunately it does not take the Aliens long to form a hive. One final note the Predator often goes into the Hive, Alien home turf. The Aliens know the layout and can strategically attack more effectively than the Predator, just because they might be able to detect a Alien the probability of a sneak attack from an angle remains.
This defensive advantage is the alien’s primary advantage. Then again Predators can nuke planets, but that’s the chickens’ way. Even then Aliens can lie dormant and wait till something else comes on the planet.

Predators kick ass, no doubt. They are the biggest and the strongest, and have the best stuff.

Aliens, the movie (the second one) was perhaps the best movie ever about colonial space marines, even tho they got whomped pretty bad.

In the video game, Predator is the most fun, but least challenging, because you do have all the best stuff. Alien is the hardest character to play, especially before you evolve. I don't care for that action much. No, overall, I have to say that movie wise, game wise, and race in general, I like the predators best, even if they didn't have the cool toys, they still have the best sense of humor, the most honor, and all round, the most fun.
Yeah, sign me up for a change of race. I wants to be a predator.

although predator is much easier to look at, Aliens is better. Predator was a great movie but the sequel was horrible. All the Aliens are jam packed. I haven't seen AVP yet. Was it any good?

Well, I think that Aliens are more positive role models. They work together to create hives and capture food. When trouble comes, they always have each others back. When trapped in a cage, one alien will give up his life to soak the floor with acid to let his brethren escape. It's this unselfish teamwork that makes aliens so difficult to kill. Aliens are like the mafia.

Predators are careless. Their parents just drop them off on random planets without any supervision. They kill for sport instead of food, and just leave the skinless carcasses behind like some drunk dumbass hunter. Sure they have cool weapons, but when they get into a little trouble they panic and blow themselves up like a suicide bomber. That's not very brave, and it sets a bad example for the kids.

I'm going with the aliens.
