Hey everybody i am going to be a freshman in high school and i was wondering if i have the stuff my coach would be looking for in a pitcher. Either a starting or closing one. i can throw a 4-seam fastball, sinker, changeup and a curveball which most kids on my middle school team couldn't hit and some people say is devastating. So could i be a high school pitcher?

In HS, the fastball is still the bread & butter pitch. You need a good fastball to make your other pitches more effective, especially the second time through the lineup.

It is also important that you through your off-speed stuff for strikes. If you can't, disciplined hitters will watch your other stuff go by, let you fall behind in the count, and sit on a fastball when the count is in their favor.

High School pitching is also about using your head. Setting hitters up, knowing what to throw and when to throw it. Example: Should you throw a change-up to a #8 hitter? Could it be that he's a #8 hitter because he can't hit a good fastball and your change-up is the only pitch he CAN hit?

Keep working it - develop your fastball - learn to throw a cut fastball - you gotta have movement on the fastball, even in HS.

Good Luck!

it is extremely hilarious...yet, it is the fashion of factor that ought to take place completely by twist of fate. Softballs are not tougher to hit...beneficial the pitcher is closer and would throw it rather problematic, however the ball is extensive, basically positioned the bat obtainable. Props to her if she will continuously get hits.

give it a try, all that they could say is no, if they do try the next year. Then just practice more and try again.
