A "cutaway" is just a gimmick. You can reach some higher notes a bit easier, that's all.
estaban is a greedy, non-talented exploiting nobody who is out to make a buck.

Like the others said, cutaways allow you to reach higher frets a little easier. In my opinion, it negatively affects the sound, specifically the mid on jumbo models.
If you are lreally looking for a decent at a good price, grab a Washburn or Ibanez. They are good guitars that will last a long time and sound good.
Don't buy guitars from info-mercials or any other outlet that does not allow you to try it first. Clever editing and a cool voice over guy make everything seem to be better than it is. Also, did you ever hear of Esteban before the late night commercials? I sure didn't and I've been playing for 28 years.

Don't worry about it being a cutaway or not...It would possibly allow you to reach some higher notes but you are probably just going to be strumming some open chords for awhile anyway. My advice is go to guitar center or another music store...you can get the same cheap package deal but it wont have Esteban's name on it. The most important part of any guitar you buy is playing it first. If you like the sound, you like the feel, you like the price then buy it. Then go to a guitar repair immediately and get a set up. They will know what you mean and this should be pretty cheap and will make any guitar you buy sound and play like a better instrument.

First Estaban was once a student of Segovia. He was competent at best. But he had a bad car accident and messed his face and body up. So he vanished.when Nuevo Flamenco came around he dawned a Zoro costume and started giging again. Nuevo Flamenco is to Flamenco what smooth Jazz is to real Jazz. Corporate swill. So is Esteban a hack? No he can play but he probably like me plays for his dogs at home. What he plays to make money is garbage. As far as his guitar it's garbage. Go to a good music shop and have a guitar teacher find you something. There are a lot of good inexpensive guitars out there. I recently bought an Ibanez Arch top jazz guitar that Guitar Center had on sale for 299.00 they also had a used one that had already been set up for 269.00 . I got a Dean Avenger 7 string electric for 126.00. I play Jazz Classical and Flamenco guitar. I played since I was 5. I will be 62 in May. I was the GM of Guitar Center Santa Ana in the early 90's. Get a good teacher and ask for help.

a cutaway guitar is a guitar that doesn't have anything where the high notes are. like...... on a regular guitar, whenever you hit the high notes, it's hard to do that because there's a part of the body of the guitar there. but with a cutaway, it's not there. if you go to a guitar store, you'll know what im talking about. its kinda hard to explain. and it usually sounds the same. As for the extaban guitars, im sure its a waste of money. one I highly recommend the brand Ibanez. they're decent price wise and their sould quality is amazing! and also, get an acoustic/electric combo. you'll thank me later. trust me. that way you can still plug in but still have the acoustic tone.

With a cutaway you have access to more frets. I would say if you want to buy one, play it first. You want something that feels good and sounds good.

a cut away is talking about the section that is taken out of the body on your "neck" hand side so that you can reach the higher frets on the guitar. as far as the esteban guitar, i have never played one but for the price, it looks like a great deal for a starter guitar.

if you are just starting to play, i would suggest buying whatever you can afford, most music stores sell indivual strings, so you can just pick up the on you need, in most cases they will even replace it for you if you ask, some might charge a small fee, but that is better than if you dont know what your doing, you could possibly break the string again if you wind it to tight

Dunno what a cutaway is, but I play a fender acoustic D-6 or something. Very nice, I recommend fender stuff. I supposed Estaban knows his guitars though.
