Do you have windows movie maker? I find that one worked really well for a lot of my work. Plus you can convert the files to play on a dvd afterwards. My husband used it recently to create a dvd for the local fire department here.

Besides iPhoto you could use iMovie and include transitions, titles and special effects. You use it just like you would for movies but place the photos instead of the film clips. You can make a Quicktime movie from it and then a DVD. It's really a great set of programs available on a Mac.

The easiest is windows movie maker. You just drag both your picture files and your music files into a timeline. With a little practice, you can edit and add effects too.

Even better is Showbiz movie maker, but the best I have used is Vegas foundry, but it's pretty advanced, and expensive.

Plus! photo story from microsoft plus digital media addition. It comes with the plus! Super pack for windows xp. It only cost me $24.00 Canadian at Walmart. You can use photos with music or you can record your voice for each picture. I've had lots of fun with it. :)

Probably the easiest one would be iPhoto, but that requires a mac. Otherwise, try powerpoint for pc. You can create timings, etc. But iPhoto is easier to use, in my opinion, and the prime reason (in my opinion) to use a mac...

you can do it with Pinnacle's Studio Plus software. The nice thing about that is you can edit video footage as well. If you want to do video, you have to make sure you can get your video camera coverage onto your PC - there are solutions for that as well.
