I need a storm door that measures 32" by 78". Two inches shorter than the standard. No where seems to sell them, and it costs a fortune to get a custom one. Any ideas on what to do? I live in Delaware if that matters!

Lowes can order one in for you. You can get a wood one and cut it. Double check the standard doors. Some have enough play to fit a number of openings, that's why they have adjustment strips on the bottom.

You can find a 32" x 78" storm door at a mobile home parts dealership... or perhaps talk a dealership into ordering one for you.

They will want to know if it is a Left hand hinge, or right hand. (as you stand outside, looking at the door, which side is the hing on?)

I just did a Yahoo search and turned up several dealerships and parts stores in Delaware, you should be able to find one near you.
Good Luck

would it work to take and install the normal size door, then with the gap at the top, just fill it in with a 1x2 or something like that? You should be able to get it to match up to your regular house trim and hide it from the outside. Don't know if it will work, but thought I would throw it out there

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/U7lsY
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

check first under doors in your yellow pages as many used door places sell them. the size you are talking about sounds like it came off a moble home or r.v. you can contact from the yellow pages used mobile homes. many will have used and new doors in stock.

build your own. get a panel of insulated glass the size you need and build it into a wood frame. then attach that with hinges to the frame of your door.

If you can get a wooden one you can cut it down to the size you need
