Models are ugly. A woman 5'3 with a big ***, not that is hot.

Some models are short and skinny. Truth is that you only need to be 6'0 if you're shooting for runway modeling. 5'3' inch girls are quite well accepted in swimsuit modeling and makeup modeling. If you're looking for a good start, I would suggest posting up some photos of yourself at modeling agencies on the internet. Stay away from things that tell you to buy classes or pay for an agent; those are SCAMS. Also, beauty pageants don't actually give you much of a good start, but it's good for experience, I suppose. The ones I was in were not really worth it, but it gave you an opportunity to show your runway skills, and they do teach you to walk. Happy modeling!

They can't allow for much variation from the standard model dimensions because the clothes they are showing are made to a particular size. They don't want to have to make various sizes of different garments for a show. Fashions are usually shown to their best advantage on unusually tall people with idealized proportions. Even a slender 5'3 model will look heavier in something that on a tall and proportionately heavier woman would not have the same visual effect.

Because the taller you look, the skinnier you also look. Another reason is if short girls wear skirts or shorts they wont look as good on their short legs, they'll look better on long legs. I'm sorry if your short I have the same problem, and my modeling dreams I learned were not going to happen when I stopped growing at 5'4. :/

because the world is full of self indulged people that think that the only way a lady can look good is to be tall and skinny.

A runway model should be tall so people can see them. A print (catalog, billboards) doesn't have to be any height.

Dina;

its okay to be short; but the clothes and camera make for a better model; you could always do commercials.

Clothes look better on taller people. Also the taller the better to be seen on stages and runways.
