Well we have went out 6 times and we are dating now as we speak. He was goin to give me the ring when I was dating this other guy and I seen it but I choose to stay with my ex boyfriend at the time. Now he says I won't get it until I keep a job for 3 months. But he said he had it before but he took it back the first time and he went to get it again and he made me look for it but he did not have it because I went to the jewlery's and asked what should I do about all of this it is too much. We are a happy couple tho...

Doesn't sound like you're happy to me. You should re-evaulate your relationship. If you choose to stay with him, play it cool and don't seem desparate for the ring.

I don't want his promise ring! You should leave him for giving it to me!... Oh whatever, semantics I think these 'traditional' tokens of affection are ridiculous. If he is kind to you, loving and considerate, and you like him well enough, than just get it on. No ring or chocolates or wedding rituals mean anything if there's no real love or trust there! He's treating you like a pet! Do you really need his rewards? Keep a job for yourself!

you say you're happy, but it doesn't sound like it. He'll give it to you when he's ready. You can't keep asking and nagging about it, or else it will take you longer to get it.
