A pawn shop is always going to be your best bet on something like this and the other thing that you might try is the classified ad section of the local paper. Many times you can find something really good there. Good luck.

the latter half of that is going to be hard to find for that much money. try tracking down a person selling a used one who doesnt know what its worth.

The best bet is to try the local pawn shop. If you really want a new one the musician's friend. They have the best prices... I bought my first bass from them w/ amp for around $150.
