My favorite FREE Palm applications are:
HandyShopper - it's a fantastic database, great for making and organizing lists (especially shopping lists).
I also like iSiloFree (for reading books, many of which you can get for free at Memoware).
Finally, I use AutoBase for tracking my gas mileage, oil changes, etc.
